The center concluded that most of the losses associated with the actions of the West, not with Russia’s response.

The authors evaluated the effects of sanctions from two viewpoints: on the basis of monthly data of the UN commodity trade (UN Comtrade data), they analyzed the impact on the exports to all trading partners, including do not impose sanctions, but also used the data of French companies.

According to experts, the EU countries accounted for 76.7 percent of all losses.

The authors of the study suggest that a large part of the diplomatic impact of the conflict on exports can be considered collateral damage. The report also stated that sanctions have reduced the probability of exporting goods from certain French companies.

The EU and US have imposed sanctions against Moscow over the situation in Ukraine. In response, the Russian authorities have restricted food imports from Western countries, the ban covers meat, sausage, fish and seafood, vegetables, fruits, dairy products.
