One of the highest active volcanoes in Eurasia – Klyuchevskaya Sopka in Kamchatka threw a column of ash to a height of 6 km above sea level, told Interfax on Sunday in the Kamchatka branch of the Geophysical service RAS.

“This event at the volcano occurred on Sunday night local time. About the height of ash emission can be judged from seismic data, that morning was confirmed by satellite images ash cloud was registered”, – said the representative of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

He noted that the ash cloud with size of about 1 thousand 250 square meters, took more than 200 km West – southwest of Kliuchevskoi volcano in the direction of the sea of Okhotsk.

In turn, EMERCOM of Russia in Kamchatskiy Krai, the Agency reported that ash falls in the settlements of the region as a result of this release is not registered.

Earlier on April 15 Klyuchevskaya Sopka volcano spewed ash to a height of 5.5 kilometers.

Volcano Klyuchevskaya Sopka, the highest active volcano of Eurasia. Its height is 4750 meters. The previous eruption ended on 24 March 2015 and lasted approximately three months.
