The US is preparing to suspend cooperation with Russia on Syria. This was the American Secretary of state John Kerry told Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov, reports Interfax.
State Department spokesman John Kirby said that the telephone conversation of foreign Ministers took place on Wednesday.
“Kerry briefed the foreign Minister that the US is preparing to suspend us-Russian cooperation on Syria, including the establishment of a Joint Executive center, as long as Russia does not take immediate steps to stop the offensive in Aleppo and restore the ceasefire,” – said Kirby.
He stressed that during the conversation, Kerry made clear that the United States and partners believe that Russia is responsible for this situation including the use of incendiary and bunker busters in the urban environment and rapid escalation, which represents a huge risk to the civilian population.”
Sep 19, Russia said that the army of Bashar al-Assad to respect the ceasefire in Syria is meaningless, because the militants continue attacks.
Later in the day, Damascus announced the termination of the ceasefire in Syria. The next day Russia and Assad attacked the rebels in Aleppo.
On September 25, the U.S. announced that Russia and the Syrian authorities are conducting a full-scale offensive operation in the East of Aleppo.
