The United States explained, for what purpose imposed new sanctions against Russia

США объяснили, с какой целью ввели новые санкции против РФThe United States intends to maintain the sanctions as long as Russia does not perform all of their obligations under the Minsk agreements.

The United States imposed new sanctions against Russia to expedite a diplomatic solution to the conflict in the East of Ukraine, said the U.S. Treasury on Thursday.

“Today’s action is part of ongoing efforts by OFAC (Department of Treasury that meets sanctions – if) to counter attempts to circumvent sanctions on Russia, aid to the private sector in sanctions implementation, and to promote a diplomatic solution to the conflict in Ukraine”, – stated in the message of the U.S. Treasury.

As noted in the document, expansion of the sanctions, “demonstrates the commitment of the Ministry of Finance the obligation to maintain the sanctions as long as Russia does not comply fully with its obligations under the Minsk agreements, including a comprehensive ceasefire, the withdrawal of all arms and military personnel and the restoration of control of Ukraine over the territory within internationally recognized borders.”

As reported, the Office of international assets in the U.S. Treasury Department on Thursday expanded the list of sectoral sanctions in connection with the conflict in the Donbass against several individuals and companies.

The list includes the names of 17 people, including Eduard Bacurin.

In addition, the sanctions list included 20 companies, including “Giprostroymost”, “Mostotrest”, “Sovmortrans”, “Glavgosexpertiza of Russia”, “Koksokhimtrans”, “Sovfracht” and others.
