Opposition bloc of Ukraine intends to submit for consideration of Verkhovna Rada resolution on dismissal of the Minister of culture Vyacheslav Kirilenko, because his Department has become “a Ministry of provocation and sabotage,” according to the statement of the party. The text of the document published on the website of the Opposition bloc on Sunday, February 21.
The resolution will be registered in the Verkhovna Rada on Monday, February 22.
“With the abolition of the law on language policy began the annexation of Crimea and the conflict in the Donbas. The current war did not stop provocations. The Ministry of culture Kirilenko and his patterns have created “black lists” of actors, and banned non-political films” — said in a statement.
In party remind that in Ukraine were banned “popular with generations of Ukrainians” “Irony of fate”, “Caucasian captive”, “guest from the future”. Under the ban came and Russian TV series “Master and Margarita”, “the White Guard” and “Taras Bulba”. The last two, stress in the Opposition bloc, are the adaptation of novels written by writers born in Ukraine, Mikhail Bulgakov and Nikolai Gogol.
“A work of genius of Michael Bulgakov “the Master and Margarita” has already got the list of forbidden books. It was in the USSR under Stalin. Now the series according to this novel made the list is prohibited. It happened under the current government. It is these decisions and the facts of corruption and it will be included in the newest history of Ukraine”, — conclude authors of the statement.
Moreover, according to the Opposition bloc, Minister of culture of Ukraine “inciting sectarian conflict”. The decision on transfer to using of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyivan Patriarchate (UOC-KP) part of the premises of “Sophia of Kiev” [the Cathedral of St. Sophia] “not only contradicts the obligations of Ukraine to UNESCO, but also violates the rights of other churches”, the statement reads. “The reason for the decision in their personal Church affiliation Kirilenko to the UOC-KP and its friendly relations with its leaders”, — declared in the block.
