In 2013, at Sotheby’s in London was a collection of 155 lots with the works of “underground” photographers of the former Soviet Union, lets look at the daily life of the time. Just sold 34 lot collections, total sales amounted to 313 250 pounds. These pictures were taken between 1959 and 2004, and they give a glimpse into that era of our country through the lens many photographers who worked outside the field of view of the Soviet government.
