The Minsk agreement went down the drain: what’s next

Минские соглашения пошли коту под хвост: что дальше

Yesterday’s statement by Poroshenko about the failure to implement the Minsk agreement struck many politicians, analysts and journalists in shock.

Of course, we all understood and knew that as such “Minsk-2” is never executed, because the shelling continued and continues on the territory of Donbass so far. But who would have thought that Petro Poroshenko publicly “disown” from these documents and refuse to implement them? I think no one. Even the authorities of Donetsk and Lugansk republics did not expect this outcome.

In connection with this statement of the Ukrainian leader, the head of DNR Alexander Zakharchenko gathered an emergency meeting and made a sudden check the combat readiness of the militia.

According to Zakharchenko, Poroshenko openly expressed reluctance to peacefully resolve the conflict. In this regard, the head of DNR urged his colleagues to prepare for a new round of hostilities.

“Today we carried out exercises that are associated with two things. The first is severe exacerbation of the contact line and the second performance of Peter Poroshenko, in which he completely reversed the Minsk agreement and has in fact unleashed a new round of hostilities”, – said Zakharchenko.

Achieved in Minsk agreement in a moment just crossed the Ukrainian leader. All the efforts of “Norman Quartet” went down the drain. Petro Poroshenko, as well as its partners, not willing to cease hostilities in the South-East of the country. Kiev best war, Kiev need the money allocated for the maintenance of military conflict. In addition, Poroshenko benefits as long as possible to expose Russia as an enemy and aggressor. That is why the situation in the Donbass is not allowed.

We can only hope for the best and believe that the mind, which is not generally observed, will prevail over political figures of Ukraine and war in Donbas will be rescinded.
