Kiev is ready to consider the question of introducing a visa regime with Russia. This was reported by Ukrainian foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin on Friday, August 12, in interview to Agency “Interfax-Ukraine”.

According to the head of the foreign Ministry, it is necessary to clearly control the entry from the territory of Russia, to “more effectively filter the agents of the FSB and other Russian special services who will work to destabilize”.

Klimkin, however, added that Russia could use the initiative as a propaganda argument. “The media will spin the cases where the elderly or children can’t see their relatives,” he suggested.

The Minister added that in case of introduction of a visa regime consulates of Ukraine will need about 100 additional employees.

Former Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister about the point of no return

April 15 in support of the introduction of a visa regime with Russia was made by the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andrew Parubiy. “I think this is the way we should go,” he said.

In March, the Verkhovna Rada was submitted a draft resolution on the rupture of diplomatic relations with Russia. Later, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko opposed the adoption of this proposal.
