The Ministry of economy of Ukraine on Easter evaluated the growth of prices with the help of comic – indicator “index of cake”, which reflects the change in the value of the main components of the “classic recipe”. Infographics published on page offices in Facebook.
Among the ingredients of the cake, the most expensive of the yeast (181% yoy), raisins (+41.7%) and salt (+40%). But socially important goods cheaper: flour 22%, eggs – by almost 20%. In the end, according to the Ministry, 600-gram kulich Easter to the current cost of 22 hryvnia, rising by a third compared to 2015 year.
According to experts of the Ministry, the greatest contribution to the prices growth has made the raisins: the cost of dried fruit made up one third of all the costs of festive cake.
The Agency also draws attention that “the index of cake” is not an official macroeconomic indicator of inflation or increase in consumer prices. According to the forecast, in 2016 the rates should increase to 113,5%.
