Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov commented on the proposals of the Ministry of economic development (MED) to limit the growth of wages in the economy for two years to exit from recession, said the Agency TASS.

Peskov stressed that this is only one of the discussed proposals and we are talking about optimizing the cost of the state apparatus. A spokesman for Vladimir Putin said that at present the search continues for the growth points of the Russian economy. And the theme of optimization of budget expenditures is constantly discussed and is on the agenda.

“While talking about some well-defined position, probably, is not necessary”, — concluded underscore the President’s press Secretary.

Earlier on Tuesday the newspaper “Kommersant” reported, citing a draft of the macroeconomic forecast, the MAYOR for the years 2016-2019 that the Agency proposes to overcome the stagnation in the economy by reducing the purchasing power of the population. We are talking about the lower wages in 2016-2017, followed by compensation in 2018-2019.

The MAYOR has proposed to reduce the real pensions by 4.8% in 2016 and 2% in 2017. Until 2019, the Agency proposes to index them only to inflation.

These measures, confidence in the MAYOR, will increase the number of poor from 13.1% in 2015 to 13.7% at the end of 2017, with a peak in 2018 at the level of 13.9% and a real return of income and the number of poor by the year 2015 to 2019. Such “belt-tightening” will overcome the transitional period until 2019. In this period of time investment of corporate profits and national welfare Fund (NWF) will reach 24.1% of GDP. In Department believe that corporate profits will be the main source of investment, not savings.
