For many the first opportunity to Express themselves – to take part in the International student festival VGIK. These days though, and are considered festive, but still – part of the learning process. Young Directors, scriptwriters, cameramen, actors and artists sent to the jury their best work over the past year. And students production faculty to hone skills in presentation and promotion of films. The organizing Committee is the heart of the festival – the work goes on from early morning until late evening.
The first stage of the 36th International festival of VGIK
In the first stage of the festival, who turned 55 years old, was attended by 126 works, and it is as much as eleven and a half hours of film screenings. First audience and the first critic is something that is so cherished budding filmmakers.
Leonid Gardash involved in the competition with the short film “Naruzhka”. In the story, two cops get into a ridiculous situation: watching a suspect, they themselves become the object of pursuit – two activists from the movement, opposes the arrogant behavior of the drivers who shamed the police for illegal Parking and thereby jeopardize the success of the RAID. In the script the young Director helped my mom – a professional playwright.
Leonid Gardash, a third-year student of directing Department, said, of Course, is challenging. I want to show off, to show what you’ve been working for a year is the best.”
Marina Sochi, screenwriter, continues:I think there is no age for filmmakers. They are not young, not old – there are good people, there are bad. And so when we work together, that is, cinema is a collective art: the writers, Directors and editors – we all become the same age. And everyone does, if only it was good for our work.”

To the film was included in competition program of the festival VGIK, only one of the original ideas the film is not enough. A movie to shoot for real, without the student’s errors. For many student films – student, of course, budget is the most difficult task.
The rector of the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography Vladimir Malyshev explains:the Traditional requirement of Cinematography is a creative approach, first and foremost. Is that all the elements of the film, even a short, was done professionally”.
In the first stage of the 36th student festival VGIK, the jury awarded the victory five: feature film, Boris Akopov “Paradise”, the documentary film Alexander Sobolenko “Crowd. Close-up”, the animated film Alina Rathenau the “Hunting tiger”, best TV Director recognized Ksenia Shatilova, Director of multimedia Maxim Lucian. Films-winners of the internal competition of VGIK now will fight for the main prize at the international stage of the competition which will be held from 14 to 18 November. For 59 of the festival selected student paintings from 39 countries, including the work of other film schools in Russia.
