Just something similar happened in Belarus, where the persecution of faculty led to many dozens of leading scientists left the country and now working in Warsaw and other European capitals. The persecution of professors for objectionable political beliefs are increasing in the country from year to year. Long ago destroyed all kinds of University democracy and the free election of rectors.
