The European Central Bank has threatened to take legal action against Slovenia after the police confiscated relating to ECB documents from the Central Bank of the country. About it reports Reuters.

ECB President Mario Draghi expressed regret about the RAID that violate the legal privileges and immunities of the European regulator, and is called upon to intervene the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker.

Wednesday, July 6, the Slovenian police raided four locations in Ljubljana, including at the Central Bank. The investigation gathered evidence in the preliminary investigation of the criminal case in connection with possible violations during the implementation of the programme of assistance to banks in 2013.

“The seized equipment contains information of the ECB, and this information is protected in accordance with the directly applicable primary EU law,” said Draghi in a letter to the Prosecutor General of Slovenia.

In 2013, the previous government was forced to inject more than three billion euros into local banks to prevent them from collapse due to the large number of “bad” loans. The programme was written off about 600 million euros of subordinated bonds in five banks.
