In my opinion, the minds of many Russian citizens crushed by two fundamental myths.
The first myth is Russia as a kind of earthly hell in which everything is extremely bad, non-free, dull, dirty and disgusting, where people are created in sufferings, all his short life of terrible suffering, then in the throes of dying. Thus tormented by the infernal devils in the form of Russian officials and “bloody gebni”, which is now headed by dark Lord “of Mordor” – Vladimir Putin.
The second Russian myth takes the West as a kind of earthly Paradise, in which rivers of milk flowing in the milk and honey, where the triumph of absolute freedom, where everything is very clean, neat and beautiful, where you live not people, but elves, where’s all the prosperity, pleasure and total harmony.
In the late 80-ies of the last century, using these myths, the Soviet liberal intelligentsia and parthozaktiv, under the guise of Gorbachev’s “perestroika”, fiercely felled the Soviet Union under the joyful applause of the West.
And still flunked it. And then came the “happy’ 90s, with their triumph of liberal values, the official worship of the West, the total robbery of the people, the moral decay of society, the collapse of everything, crime, poverty, the universal hatred and blood.
In fact, for the Union of the two above-mentioned myth of steel hammer and anvil, with which it is blown to smithereens. Now it’s trying to do with Russia.
But the destruction of the USSR, along with all the horrors of a Pro-Western, liberal Yeltsinism gave the former Soviet citizens are a very important bonus –the opportunity to see the West through the prism of liberal propaganda of hearsay, and not through glass quickly riding tour buses, and personally everyday, ordinary life. Someone went to Europe and the United States to work, someone studies, and someone to relocate. The collapse of the Soviet Union has enabled thousands of its former “scoops” look for the beautiful, sparkling, Western showcase.
So there was a real opening of the West.
The myth of the earthly Paradise Europe and the United States began to crack and crumble. I suddenly found that Europe and the US than what they showed Gorbachev and the liberal propaganda. It turned out that an advertisement of the West, which is continuously vtyuhivali Soviet and post-Soviet citizens, there is the real West, it is not like an earthly Paradise inhabited by perfect people living in total happiness, joy and wealth.
It turned out that many of us are forced to love something that actually never existed. The West was a simulacrum flat advertising images marketing strategy and cunning tricks.
And to many came the disappointment. The West was not the way it was presented. Cognitive dissonance has led to enlightenment, and enlightenment is to a sober view of life.

Recently I came across midst a Facebook post (as I understand it, Dating back to 2013) which was written by a woman who once went to live in Germany. In it she outlined the German prose of life without embellishment, which cannot be seen on TV or from the window of a tourist bus.
Here is what she said:
“Dear, I live in Germany for 10 years – since his student days. How and why I moved there – doesn’t matter, just love Germany and I love my Homeland – Russia.
Let’s start with salaries. Now, the average salary of 1400 euros. It is not my assumption, this is the amount that is necessary to provide to the Bank for more smaller loans. The minimum to open a free Bank account is 1200 euros.
If you live alone, the apartment is very modest and not in the center, under the mortgage or the rent, no matter will cost you about 500 Euro, electricity 80 Euro, telephone-Internet 120 euros, food is 400 euros, taxes on the car, about 30 euros, the consumption of gasoline of 150 euros, a car repair, unexpected fines of 50 euros. So, consider what “to life” from the vaunted European salaries – a little something.
Next. Yes, the average engineers with a degree and experience for about 5 years get 2200 – 2500, police officers with years of experience and min. one silver star on shoulder straps – 1800 – 2000 euros. Say, because I know from the inner circle of German friends. There are some people from 50 years with experience of 25-30 years in specialized professions that get 3300 per month. Also take not from the ceiling – rent my apartment to this woman and she gave me a copy of their income. My husband is a University Professor of the highest order (Yes, discharge them there 3 or 4 categories), gets 4700 per month. But there are – one!
Don’t forget – rising wages, and growing needs. Your apartment or the mortgage on the house will cost 1000 euros (which pays my husband), eating will be better – already at 600 euros, will buy more electrical goods, screw in chandelier is not energy-saving light bulbs and electricity consumption will be 120 euros per month, also with heating. A small digression – the Germans are VERY save on heating. Winter house 18 – 20 degrees, wear sweaters and thick sneakers, the night actually turned off the heating. And still pay even with a surcharge of about 100 euros per month. I repeat, do not take ANYTHING from the ceiling or their own experience, or the Germans of my surroundings; the staff who I supervise about 130 people. So you know what they say.
Now about the insurance. The system is very complicated. If it is very divisible, it is paid in the calculation of your earnings in gross. Then someone in the comments wrote that it was 15% and asked what other taxes. So, read the printout of my husband’s paycheck; gross he gets …. 8300 euros per month. Taxes – 10 lines; a tax on the workplace is the largest, about 2000 euros! social tax (feed the DCFS, drinking beer at the TV), solidarity tax (to feed East Germany), any other taxes, all cuts, I don’t even know what it is. So honey.insurance – 749 euros. Per month. On the bottom line – the net amount, after tax and insurance deductions remains – 4589 euros. After the payment of the lifelines (and here in his case and even my ex-wife alimony and tuition daughters from his first marriage), all other insurances, etc. – remains at best 1000 euros, and even less than that). I repeat, this is a very big exception. People with average incomes or remain on zero or minus. One of my friends is trying to save 100 euros a month, for unexpected expenses or a vacation.
So think and compare. Will be happy to answer your questions. I have the most salary of a young specialist, work experience 3 years work part time. Gross pay 2900 Euro, receive 1700 Euro. Medical insurance – 220 euros.
And very briefly about quality of service: with all our husband insurance recently I was in the hospital. Was lying on the bed in the aisle! due to the lack of seats in the house at Night… couldn’t even call the nurse to get out of bed, no call ring, it was not and nurses. At 5 am the lights are on. To eat in the evening I was not given, because the nurse had not received in time for my paper that I am there and I get food. Breakfast gave me a roommate who was also with me in the aisle. When crawling at 8 a.m. the doctor said that I can only deal with the day after tomorrow, yet I just need to lie down and wait. Given only analgesic syrup. At 9 am, with fever, with pain, almost escaped from the hospital, calling my husband, so he picked me up by car. Letting go didn’t I signed up at the door of the exit, take full responsibility for yourself. During the stay in hospital from 14:00 till 9:30 I had to pay for two days! for 20 euros per day. This so-called hospital tax that is not covered by insurance. 1200 euros for the two days stay was paid of course insurance. The question of course, for that, but that’s another topic.
Finally, to the question of specialists. For example, we do teeth for like 3 years only in Russia, in my area of the hospital, (I remain a citizen of Russia), but not to wait, pay as private patients. And done quickly, VERY efficiently, with incredible competence. We are just in awe of the skill of Russian doctors, the technique of their hands.
It was interesting. Decided to check what is the average salary in Germany. In 2016, it amounted to €28,000 a year, tax — €12 200, i.e. at the hands of the average German now receives €15 800 per year, or €1 316 per month.

(Ukrainian citizens, these amounts are divided by three to understand how much it will be in local currency.)
And recently saw the ad in the metro. In this St. Petersburg plant “Toyota” invites workers to work on the Assembly line. In the announcement, along with the heavy and monotonous labor proposed salary from 41 000, free meals, training, insurance and registration of TK.
Now contrast these salaries with the costs in Russia for food, utilities, medical care, education, transport, clothing, recreation, etc. draw your own Conclusions…

What we have in the end?
First, we have the “ultimate” in Europe, which lives at the bottom of the social pyramid, no more than the ends. While some cultural and civilizational advantages of living in European countries are now rapidly coffins of the invasion there of migrants from Africa, Central Asia and the Middle East. In Europe the most banal image becomes dirty, uncomfortable and unsafe.
Secondly, we have a modern Russia in which, if desired, any man can find a good job, if it is not sitting motionless on the priest (cursing “fucking Raska” and Putin), and raise the seat.
In it, he can find a normal social security and health, as well as a sufficiently high degree of comfort and safety (even compared to European).
Russia is not perfect. And not uniform. New and old, good and bad, developed and backward, paradoxically mixed. But the most important thing is that Russia is rapidly transformirovalsya. Now we see how post-Soviet economic and social cocoon of the light is born the new country. And if this transformation process will not be interrupted, in 10 years the world will see a completely new Russia.
