The defense Ministry commented on the information allegedly in Syria shot down a helicopter of the aerospace forces of the Russian Federation, assuring that all the machines returned safely to the airfield, no losses. About it reports on Friday, 8 July, RIA Novosti with reference to the representative of the air base “Hamim”.
“All Russian combat helicopters in the Syrian Arab Republic, after performing the planned tasks safely back on the ground. No loss of Russian aircraft there,” — said the representative of the airbase.
Earlier in social networks appeared information about the alleged in Syria shot down a Russian helicopter to the East of Palmyra in HOMS province.
Since the beginning of operations in Syria VKS lost two helicopters. In the night of 12 April a Russian Mi-28N from the Russian aviation group crashed in the Syrian district of HOMS. Both pilots were killed.
Initially, the source in the military-industrial complex was named as the cause of the accident is a collision with the ground at night piloting in difficult conditions. Later it became known that the helicopter could crash because of loss by crew of spatial orientation.
Another helicopter Mi-8 was destroyed on November 24 during an operation to rescue the crew of the su-24 bomber, shot down by fighters from the Turkish air force. During the operation, was also killed Russian marine sailor Alexander Pozynich.
