The Bank of England, which serves the U.K. Central Bank, kept its key rate at 0.5 percent. The relevant information contains in the message of the regulator, published on Thursday, July 14.

Eight members of the monetary policy Committee voted to maintain rates, one for its reduction to 0.25 percent. The Committee unanimously supported the retention of the asset repurchase program with a volume of 375 billion pounds (nearly $ 500 billion; the redemption is due to the reserves of the Central Bank).

In the Bank of England reported that most of the members of the Committee expect that monetary policy will be eased in August. The main purpose of the regulator remains boost inflation to the level of two percent.

Amid the release of information about the decision of the Bank of England accelerated the growth of the pound to the dollar. As of 14:30 GMT the pound was worth 1.34 us dollar (grew 1.6 percent compared to the closing session, July 13).
