The first racket of Ukraine Elina Svitolina overcame the quarter-final stage of the tournament WTA Premier with a prize Fund of $6,289,521.
For the fourth time in the season the tournament grid brought Svitolina with former Russian Daria Gavrilova, representing Australia. Cup of Hopman, Madrid and Cincinnati, the Ukrainian failed to take the opponents a single set.
The first set was challenging for both players – Elina Gavrilova and had it out for one hour and 14 minutes. At the start of the match Daria led 3:1 – Elina responded with a series of four games, but are unable to apply for a set. Gavrilova played a single set-bol for others – only on tie-break, Svitolina put the squeeze on the combat opponent.
