According to the CEO of the company “Adyg-Urac” Aslan Panesh, last week in the port of Novorossiysk arrived the second shipment of food — about 3 tons of oranges, lemons, grapefruits, tomatoes and cabbage.

Last year, the Syrian side has already expressed readiness to start deliveries to Russia, but until the last moment they were pilot in nature and were a small party.

The delivery of products from Syria to the Russian Federation for “Adyg-Uraka” deals with the French shipping company CMA CGM Group, said Panesh. But first, he said, with imports from Syria was a problem: the first Tasaka tons of goods stayed in port more than ten days from-for incorrectly issued customs documents, which led to damage parts of the products. In addition, the time was not received from customs the price of Syrian fruit and vegetables, which also delayed the procedure.

By the time of discharge of the second batch, these problems have been solved, arrived at the port the containers were decorated for two days, said the newspaper.

Now products are sold through Moscow wholesale and retail food center “Food city”, and through several wholesalers in the South of Russia.

In addition, according to Panesa, “Adyg-Urac” talks about marketing the Syrian products with a retail network “the Magnet” and “Pyaterochka”. The company also intends to invest in the Syrian company for manufacturing of packaging material, which still leaves much to be desired.

“This will allow us weekly to import 3-4 tons of vegetables and fruits. Plans to increase the volume of imports to 5 thousand tons a week,” said Panesh. He said that the organization supplies the company has already invested more than $3 million Total investment, including the construction of a new packaging, will exceed $10 million, said the businessman.

Recall that from January 2016 a ban was imposed on import to Russia of vegetables and fruits from Turkey. It happened after the incident with the downed Turkish air force Russian su-24 bomber in Syria.
