Speech Poroshenko: from pastry chef to the seller void

Речь Порошенко: от кондитера до продавца пустоты

I just can’t not share with you, dear friends, my emotions and impressions from listening to the throne speech, “Hetman” Poroshenko before the so-called “Verkhovna Rada”. By the way, the word “Hetman” and “Happy” I specifically take in quotation marks, just to highlight the lack of legal and human legitimacy of the current Ukrainian authorities, but that’s a topic for another discussion. And now back to the statement Poroshenko, who, by the way, I was very surprised.

I had no idea that among his speechwriters could be the ghosts of Samuel Beckett and Franz Kafka, because the number of absurd speech Poroshenko easy plug for the belt all the classic works of these authors. As it is possible to listen and support – absolutely incomprehensible. But listen, applaud, and demand more!

In General, Poroshenko gives the impression of a man who’s exhausted of waiting. He is waiting for Shoigu, with the same gusto and hopelessness, with which the heroes of Beckett waited for Godot, in the same play. Poroshenko is waiting for Shoigu and literally demands that the Russian tank wedges entered the Ukraine and he could finally with a calm heart to tell his American supervisor: “Mission accomplished! The war in Europe has begun!”

It is evident that he often dreams about it, but nothing happens. So we have to invent all sorts of “Russian terrorist forces” who allegedly terrorized Ukraine. This emphasizes the strength of the Ukrainian army and the enormous assistance it has received from Western partners. It’s funny to see how the ancient coffins on wheels (I mean the old “Humvee” and “Saxons”) cause Poroshenko, such a delight. But what can you do, he in the end, the pastry chef, not a normal President.

Strikes another fragment of speech of Poroshenko. Well, the one in which he tells the public and the deputies, as the economic aggression of Russia has caused damages to Ukraine $ 15 billion and was the main reason for the sharp drop in living standards of Ukrainians.

The nonsense about “economic aggression” I will not even discuss, but still want to understand: if Russia allegedly sent to Ukraine “terrorist troops”, then why did Poroshenko actually wants to trade with the country-aggressor? And not only trade, but also to feed its inhabitants candy. What is it? Doublethink? Schizophrenia? Or thin based on the fact that “people shavaet”?

I’m not leaving the suspicion that this is the expectation that “people shavaet”, and even asked shout “glory to Ukraine” in response to the nonsense of the “President”. Interestingly, among the supporters of the Maidan, there are those who remember that they are exactly warned about this back in 2012 and 2013? Even numbers were called the same! We have mentioned those 15 billion dollars a year, plus or minus a billion. Practice has shown that the Russian economy and the Russian military-industrial complex without Ukraine operate quietly, which certainly cannot be said about Ukraine, where Poroshenko is forced to accept a sharp drop in living standards.

Our liberals like to say that Ukraine now is a real freedom of speech and a free press, not like in Russia. I’d like them to offer to switch places with the journalists of the TV channel inter, for whom the air of the European of freedom in Kiev suddenly turned toxic carbon monoxide in their burned-out office.

But if Ukraine really were a free press, its main reaction to the speech, Poroshenko was to become the Russia raised the utility tariffs for the population? It is Russia and Putin personally stolen all loans, including Chinese? It is Russia and Putin himself has imposed quotas on the export of Ukrainian products to the EU, bringing Ukraine failed to achieve significant export growth in Europe?

These rhetorical questions are no answers, because if pronounced aloud, then all the illusions related to post-Maidan Ukraine will burst like soap bubbles and find out what’s inside of all plans and stories about the bright future – void. I must admit that Poroshenko has made great strides in the business.

Until recently, he sold candy, and now he sells EN masse to residents of Ukraine a void – an empty dream, wrapped in beautiful words that “the West loves Ukraine” and “Ukraine is Europe”. Business is great, but it may soon be over. One can only marvel at the strength of the stock, which our Soviet ancestors laid in Ukraine, its economy and infrastructure.

However, any margin of safety sooner or later ends, and there is already no the West will not help. Moreover, the West has long been written off from the accounts of Ukraine.
