The police believe that the victims could be more than 500 children.

“They seek out those who seem to them for one reason or another, vulnerable. They are looking about them personal information that can be used to offer and share images – those pictures that they send, not always depict themselves. This can lead to a real meeting, which will end the harassment,” – said the Deputy chief constable of a Scottish police Malcolm Graham.
“Three of those arrested were ten millions of photos on computers and other devices,” said detective inspector Andy McWilliams.
During the investigation, which lasted five weeks, police have raided dozens of homes and has analyzed tens of thousands of sites, pages in social networks and online chat rooms.
Contact online, according to investigators, has now become the main platform for pedophiles.
