Soft drinks in Iran

In most cities of Russia are now hot. In Iran even hotter. Of course, in our time is very saving air conditioners. If you remember, I once told you that in Iran the method of cooling air in the premises has been developed since ancient times, and the building was called budhiram. Of course, after centuries of living in a hot climate, the Iranians came up and a lot of healthy drinks, quenches thirst on Sunny days and allows you to preserve vigor.

It should be said that in Iran the concept of “cold water” is somewhat different from the usual in Russia. Most of my Russian friends cold called drinking water at room temperature. For Iranians this water is warm and not tasty. A good drink should be just out of the fridge, with ice. I suspect that the person is an unusual kind of drink in the heat would have caused a sore throat. But in Iran it is drunk since childhood, and such problems, thank God, no. While sparkling water the Iranians are not held in high esteem.

I regret to inform you that we have sold and… beer. Of course, soft. There are various “malt” variety, and options with fruit flavors.

A good hostess always prepares cold “arcs” – a fermented milk drink resembling tan or ayran, which often add salt and mint or even the powder of dried rose petals, as well as “AB-arc-hear” – like hash: however the brew we have, and finely chopped pickles or garlic, it is customary to fill the “mast” (thick yoghurt), adding salt. AB-arc-hear on hot days, quenches the hunger, especially if you eat it with the bread-sangamam.

In General, “mast” in Iran are very fond of and eat bread constantly. This is also a cool product, nice on hot days.

The sharbat Bahar Narenj – sorbet from the syrup based on the colors of a certain type of citrus (“narang”). If the city of Gamsar satisfied with a luxurious ceremony in honor of the collection of roses and production of rose-water, in: near Caspian, the same wonderful holiday dedicated to the collection of flowers”, Narendra”. He even included in the List of cultural heritage of Iran. “Bahar narenj” means “flower Naranja” or “orange blossom”.

The sharbat khake Shir – sorbet with seeds of sisymbrium. 4 tablespoons of sisymbrium irio (pre-washed several times in cold water) put 1 tablespoon of sugar and, if desired, 1 tablespoon of rose water. Serve, of course, cold and with ice.
It is interesting to observe how in the “sharbat Jaca-Shire” tiny reddish wild radish seeds sink to the bottom of the glass. When the beverage is stirred, the seeds float to the surface, – it is well worth it to drink this sherbet.

Andar-Behesht – the name of the drink translates to “ice in Paradise”. Actually, it is enough once to try it somewhere on a dry, hot heat from the streets of Tehran and it will become clear that he fully justifies its name. Actually, it is finely chopped sweet ice, with the addition of one or another fruit juice. In the heat the ice begins to melt, and the drink is so pleasant to SIP through a straw!.. All the ingredients of the Iranian natural drink, but the similarity of the same liquid ice now appeared in other countries, including Russia. However, the bright colors that paint the ice in them, suggest about the use of chemical dyes…

This drink should not be confused with the equally tasty Iranian milk pudding, which bears the same name.

Bitmask the sharbat is a drink of tincture of willow, with the addition of sugar. You’ll be a soothing and tonic effect.

Alimu sharbat is a juice with a small amount of sugar and mint. You can make it even tastier and healthier if you pre-slice the lime slices and leave it on for a long time in the water. Through the day add the sugar and get the most amazing drink, similar to a Mojito.

In the twentieth century the popularity of the various herbal drinks in Iran has significantly decreased, many prefer to buy the unusual “Western” drinks. But today’s youth is gradually coming into fashion in the struggle for the environment and healthy, “eco-friendly” food. In large cities, have a café, serving national drinks, various soft drinks with natural ingredients and herbal infusions. Of course, this can not but rejoice!
