The Governor of Odessa region Mikhail Saakashvili said that the authorities managed to prevent provocations in Odessa, during the funeral activities for the anniversary of the tragedy on may 2, 2014.
“Contrary to all fears, all plans of our enemy, today passed in the city quietly and peacefully,” said Saakashvili at a briefing on Monday.
He said the information about possible provocations, but they were prevented. Saakashvili also thanked the citizens and police for providing security on 2 may. He stressed that the police, National guard and the regiment “Azov” remain on high alert until the end of all the holidays in may, as planned.
