Российские банки готовятся массово покинуть украинский финансовый рынок

Moscow, may 18.

Russian Bank VTB is likely to sell its Ukrainian business than continue to develop it, because he sees no prospects for its development in Ukraine. This statement was made by the head of VTB Andrey Kostin.

“As for Ukraine, we bear substantial losses. We do not see great opportunities there, both economic and political. I think if we had a chance we’d even sold the business, than it would be increased or maintained, because we do not see any opportunities there,” — said Kostin.

In addition to VTB, the Ukrainian financial market can leave the “savings” and “Vnesheconombank”. Despite the fact that Sberbank was not able to negotiate the sale of its subsidiary Bank to businessman Alexander Yaroslavsky, this does not affect the plans of Sberbank. The search for a buyer continues.

At the same time Alfa group, which owns Alfa-Bank, on the contrary, increases the presence on the Ukrainian market, buying from Unicredit Group Ukrsotsbank.
