Russian social network “Vkontakte” began the forced transition to the new design, on which work was carried out over several years. The new interface will happen gradually, and return to the old version of the design has not come out, although there are some exceptions.
During the transition to the new design all those who had previously left a request for testing, will retain the ability to use classic interface, but once the transition is complete, this shop will cover the developers. We have repeatedly written about the preparation of a new shell for “Vkontakte”, and during testing, I hope, have been identified and eliminated if not all, almost all of its shortcomings. Not for us to judge about ergonomics and usability, but the new shell has very little in common with the former.
Virtually all efforts are directed on increase of comfort of use of the network with mobile devices — all has become considerably larger, including the style show the photos with the comments already not in the bottom as it was before, and on the right. Design applications for iOS and Android is also already updated, plus was introduced the publishing pattern of news based on user interests, fortunately, is still disabled. It must be noted that the new appearance of “Vkontakte” is very similar to the current design of Facebook, which, by the way, not everyone seems comfortable.
