The former head of the state Duma Committee on international Affairs Alexei Pushkov commented on the consequences of the introduction of a visa regime between Russia and Ukraine.
On his Twitter page he wrote that the implementation of this initiative will cause harm to millions of citizens of Ukraine who work in Russia. He noted that the statements of the Ukrainian side on this issue represent “the realm of the absurd.”
Earlier, the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine intended to apply to the government to ensure that it has taken steps, involving the abolition of a visa-free regime with the Russian Federation.
However, the Parliament did not have time to review this document on 6 October.
According to Ukrainian media, the deputies decided to postpone consideration of this issue because of the reluctance of members of the “Block of Petro Poroshenko” to support such an initiative.
Earlier it was reported that, according to the head of Committee of the State Duma on CIS Affairs Leonid Slutsky, statements about the introduction of a visa regime with Russia Ukraine is not the first time wants to increase the degree of tension in the relations of the parties.
