Scientists worried. In 2000, 22.9 per cent of the world’s population suffered from myopia. It’s about 1.4 billion people. If nothing changes, by 2050, will become myopic 4758 billion people. That is almost half of the population. And one fifth of them will go blind.
Modern technology and urbanization lead to impaired vision. But there is a solution. Researchers believe that if more carefully monitor their health, eyesight can be saved.
