Prime Minister of Thailand, Prayuth Chan-OCHA, as well as several members of his government intend to visit Russia with official visits in the near future. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of defence of Thailand Ruled Wongsuwon.
According to him, Prayuth Chan-OCHA will head the delegation of Thailand at the anniversary summit Russia – ASEAN which will be held in Sochi in late may. Rules Wongsuwon confirmed that he plans a visit to Russia from 23 to 27 February. In late February, will arrive in Moscow and Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand Somkid Jatusripitak, who oversees the government’s economic policy.
This is a statement to the press Wongsuwon made shortly before a meeting with Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, who is in Bangkok. According to the Minister of defense, Russia is interested in deliveries to Thailand of the special aircraft firefighting and military engineering equipment for disaster management. Thailand, in turn, offers Russia to buy agricultural products, indicated Wongsuwon. “It’s about equivalent amounts, but not about barter,” – said Rules Wongsuwon.
