President Petro Poroshenko called on Ukrainians to learn English.
“Ukraine is open to the modern world and the modern world – for Ukraine. We all need to speak the language of global communication is English. Learn English – grow fast! (Learn English is growing fast – if)”, – wrote Poroshenko in Facebook.
On April 23, the UN established the international English language day is celebrated. The date of the celebration of the English language was chosen as the birthday of English writer and poet William Shakespeare.
First international English language day, and the days of other official languages of the United Nations, said in 2010.
Earlier it was reported that in Ukraine 2016 is declared the year of English.
