Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko asked to appoint the Ambassador of Russia in Ukraine, actress lia Akhedzhakova. The corresponding petition appeared on the website of the Ukrainian leader.

“In our opinion, the best Ambassador of Russia in Ukraine may become a Russian citizen, actress and a big fan of Ukraine and its people Mrs. Liya Akhedzhakova Medzhidovna”, — stated in the text.

Currently, a petition signed by one person.

In March, Liya Akhedzhakova called Ukrainian pilots Hope Savchenko a symbol of Ukraine. The actress also joined the “white list” of cultural figures who approve of the policy of Ukraine and that it will provide assistance in the work. The list was compiled by the Ministry of culture of Ukraine.

On 28 July, Mikhail Zurabov was dismissed from the post of the Ambassador of Russia in Ukraine. On 29 July the state Duma Committee on international Affairs supported the candidacy of Mikhail Babich to the post of Ambassador of Russia in Ukraine. Later the foreign Ministry of Ukraine said that the issue of the appointment of the Ambassador of Russia removed from the agenda.
