Peruvian authorities have searched the office of Mossack Fonseca

Peruvian authorities have raided the office of a Panamanian law company Mossack Fonseca in Lima. As reported by Reuters, representatives of the tax authorities seized its financial documents.

The operation was carried out as part of an investigation relating to possible tax evasion and fraud. After the publication by the International consortium of investigative journalist 11.5 million “the Panama document” about offshore accounts of some politicians in Peru, set up a special investigation team. She needs to gather information to understand whether there has been violation of the tax legislation, noted in tax administration in the country. The representative of Mossack Fonseca in Peru Monica de Icaza has already declared to journalists that cooperating with the investigation.

In “the Panama document” based on leakage of information from the company Mossack Fonseca, which provides legal support in the registration of companies in offshore zones, referred two candidates for the presidency of Peru, reaching the second round of the elections: Keiko Fujimori and Pedro Pablo Kuczynski. Also there is information about dozens of well-known entrepreneurs, athletes, cultural and political figures, including the Ministers, the heads of the various countries and governments.
