Legendary Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao got a title of world champion under version WBO in the Welterweight division.
Taking a small pause, a 37-year-old Pacquiao to the delight of his large army of fans decided to return to the ring for the new series of big fights. First in the list, Pacquiao was Jessie Vargas, who in March of this year, after the victory over Sadam Ali managed to break into the elite of professional Boxing.
The first escalation in the battle took place in the second round – Vargas after a sharp attack Pacquiao was knocked down, but recovered quickly and surely passed the next few rounds.
Closer to the equator the fight, Pacquiao stepped up and became more and more often due to the speed and experience to beat her young opponent. A natural outcome of the battle was a victory for Manny by unanimous decision – only one referee for the ring had doubts in the confident success of the Filipino (114:113, 118:109, 118:109).
“What’s next? I’ll be back to the Philippines to work in the Senate. I don’t know who people want me to fight. I shall fight those who will give me the promoter,” said Pacquiao after the fight.
One of the potential opponents Manny Pacquiao is the Ukrainian Vasyl Lomachenko, which in late November will have a loud fight with Nicholas Walters.
