They prove all the awesomeness of our experience.
The human brain is incredibly complex and incredibly interesting system about which we still know so little. We offer you some of the illusions that can confuse you and make you doubt what you see.
1. Curved lines and colors are deceiving the brain, causing us to think that these psychedelic swirls actually rotate.
2. The brain in the “autofocus” is one of the reasons why we think that these wheels slowly spinning.
3. And this “arms” the elephant (how many feet: 8, 6, 5 or is it 4?) the result of the fact that the brain has a tendency to seek out patterns in abstractions and to fill perceived gaps.
4. These orange circles are the same size, but in this different surrounded by the blue circles, they also seem different. Just disturbed our perception of scale and perspective.
5. The two lines consist of pink dots of the same hue, but we think that one line is darker and the other lighter. Cheating!
6. How much do you think the colors on this cube?
Most would call seven: white, yellow, green, blue, red, brown and orange. But it is also the illusion: brown square in the center of the top face and the “orange” in the center of the front face is the same color.
7. For thoughtful contemplation: it seems that the leaves softly swaying in the wind (or the picture of shimmering waves).
8. Because of the dark blue squares you think that the red lines converge. In fact, they are strictly parallel.
9. One of the most famous optical illusions is the “Hermann grid” (named after the German physiologist Hermann Ludimar). Considering it, you see grayish spots in the intersection of the lines, but in reality they are not there.
10. And finally, the illusion created by the expert on visual perception Jeremy Hinton. If you look at the black cross in the middle, you would think that the green circle “run” on pink stationary. Needless to say that there is no green circle on the picture, but there is only a flashing pink? It is easy to see, following gaze in a circle.
