According to this indicator the country is one of the worst among the participants of Euro-2016.
The British newspaper “Daily Mail” conducted a study and revealed that the football country of the continent can be called Iceland – the home of the debutants Euro 2016 football regularly on the go almost 25 thousand people, representing 7.5% of the total population of the island nation.
In Ukraine, only 0.3% are stable football fans (121 of 384 people). In recent years, this indicator has deteriorated significantly – the decline in the interest in football associated with the war in the East of the country. A few years ago Donetsk in the percentage of active football fans, significantly ahead of the rest of the city.
To the main football countries in Europe in addition to Iceland can be counted among England, Sweden, Belgium, Portugal, Spain and Germany. The largest number of fans in England (1.69 million people), followed by Germany (1,41 million), Spain (852 thousand), Italy (758 thousand) and France (673 thousand).
