Good idea comes Apostle.. This is about me. Well, almost about me.
Much time already passed since my trip to Yaroslavl, I did not bother to put pictures of my favorite places. And today I want to show a few churches and a monastery I met along the way.
To write anything about these creations of human hands makes no sense. The whole story can be easily found in Wikipedia. I just want to show You a photo
Pereslavl-Zalessky. Before You Tent-roofed Church of Peter the Metropolitan (1585). Alas, not in the best of times
Of the purification-Candlemas Novodevichy convent
Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral in Pereslavl-Zalessky. 1152-1157 years. In this Cathedral was baptized Alexander Nevsky.
And of course, the majestic Spaso-Yakovlevsky Dimitriev monastery in Rostov the Great
The monastery was founded in the late XIV century by Rostov Bishop Jacob. For pardoning criminals, the Bishop was expelled from the city and settled in the South. He built a chapel in honor of the Conception of the blessed virgin, near which he soon formed a monastery. The first stone Cathedral was consecrated first as a Trinity and then as a convent (XVII century). It was painted by Yaroslavl icon-painters.
In honor of St. Demetrius of Rostov monastery was built the Cathedral of Demetrius (1794-1802). Count Nikolai Sheremetyev, who donated their funds, hoping that the relics of the Saint will be moved to the new Cathedral, but this did not happen. Bequest of count was made of a gold mitre with precious stones for cancers of the Saint.
The atmosphere in the monastery is very pleasant, the grounds are all flowers, have the opportunity to climb one of the towers, to see the monastery from above.
If You have free time, sit and enjoy the beauty, peace and tranquility of these places
Well, if You have in stock is an hour or two, you can take a tour and learn about this place a little more.
Hope You liked the photos and my little story)) have a Nice weekend!)
