On the edge of the blade: Russia has sharply reduced the production of helicopters

На краю лопасти: Россия резко сократила выпуск вертолётов

My last year’s report on the industry: http://nosikot.livejournal.com/2360787.html

Compared to 2014 year — on-year drop in production by 22% for 2015 released 212 helicopters (in 2014 — 271 machine). That is, we fell below the 2010 level. (if it was a 214)! 5 years — some under the tail…

And it’s not because of problems with the Zaporozhye engine — no, they, like the necessary equipment for motors local Assembly go faster pace!

View more info what and how, let’s call reasons:

The Mi-8/17 Series:

Already less than 60% of the output is different versions of the medium Mi-8/17 (about half went for export, and domestic supplies “lion’s share” dedicated to the GDO, not only for the Ministry of defense).

If we recall again the year 2010, then the helicopters of this family held 75% of the industry output, i.e., some structural shift still happened. At the end of 2014 – early 2016 completed the delivery of helicopters for three major contracts in China, India, and Afghanistan (the latter was paid for US), maybe they will continue, but not to such an extent…

So, largely, the order of the defense Ministry for the supply of 310 helicopters. So there is no “bright times”. The term — Mi-171A2 helicopter with new avionics (including “glass cockpit), advanced engines (VK-2500ПС-03), a screw with blades from composite materials, etc. — perhaps this machine will be able to increase market…

Attack helicopters:

In 2015 released (again rough numbers) — 30 Mi-28N (10 more have gone into Iraq, made the first for Algeria — recently delivered), 20 Ka-52 (first ship, went just last year and not the year before), 25 Mi-35 (half for export — Iraq).

Prospects for the implementation of the SDO (in addition to available on all 3 types extended to 24 Mi-28UB are issued in 2014 at 32 Ka-52K) and two major export contracts, the Mi — 28NE to Algeria (42 machines) and Ka-52K to Egypt (46 cars) — here it should be borne in mind with regard to the information on such contracts, the customer started to demand the closure of data on them — so before receiving the official confirmation — I will deny!

1/2

Heavy Mi-26T — 4 cars (all for export — 3 in Algeria and 1 in China). Algeria has increased its order for another 8 cars.

Medium coaxial Ka-32 — 4 helicopters (3 for export to China). China has increased the order for another 7 cars. At the same time made the repair and modernization of previously released Ka-27/28 and Ka-31 (RLD) and our Indian fleets

Light helicopters:

Ka-226 — 10 approx. (T I. 80), “hang” the contracts for export license in India and for Gazprom… In March 2015. received the Addendum to the type Certificate for the Ka-226T — is it possible to expect if not break, just new orders! The Ansat — 7, completed certification version with GMS, signed the first small contracts for the supply

Yes, and will complement the reasons for the fall. For our current high-tech products with a big share of internal cooperation favorable conditions in the fall of the ruble:

— more “did not work”

— don’t use them — intentionally (i.e. “not out of malice or from having bad thoughts” and appeared removing excess profits, solving various tasks — this alone write) or because of incompetence…

Help Livejournal Media:

As recently stated by the Director for economy and Finance of the holding company “Helicopters of Russia” Sergey Zheltikov, in recent years, the company has faced serious problems with output. So if 2012-2105 the years it was originally planned to transfer to the customer of about 1200 cars, in the end, the figure was 1,050 helicopters. Already adjusted production plans for 2016-2020, instead of the planned 1700 – 2300 helicopters, the holding company will be able to produce only 1100-1200 machines.

The management of “Russian Helicopters” and “Rostec” connects these problems with the difficult situation in the economy. But, tellingly, the holding company loses its position in foreign markets, although, logically, the fall of the ruble was to increase the competitiveness of Russian equipment. So one of the largest enterprises of the holding — Kazan helicopter plant (KVZ) in 2015, almost twice reduced the export performance. If in 2014 the plant exported 69 machines in the past year, only 35 cars. As a result, even revenue from the supply of equipment abroad fell by 13.5%. In the internal market KVZ put only two units more than in 2015.

The situation in the industry leads to growth of social tension at the enterprises. In particular, at the end of April 2016, the employees of the aviation plant in Ulan-Ude Ulan-Ude aviation plant, appealed for help to Vladimir Putin. According to the workers, ” the company is in a critical condition, there will be mass layoffs, new contracts no. Ordinary employees have decided to appeal directly to the President as “don’t believe in holding “Helicopters of Russia”.
