Monica Puig has become the most unexpected Olympic champion in tennis history, beating in the final the second racket of the world, Angelique Kerber.
The emergence of Puig in the final of the Olympic games was a great surprise – 34-I racket of the world during the tournament defeated Garbine the Wind (6:1, 6:1), and in the semifinals in three games upset Petra Kvitova.
