US President Barack Obama in his article in The Washington Post stressed the importance of promoting international trade agreements, ensuring the best for his country rules the access of American goods to foreign markets.

In his opinion, to build walls of self-isolation from the world economy means to isolate US from the “incredible opportunities” that it provides. “Instead, America needs to write the rules. America must set the tone. Other countries must play by the rules set by America and our partners, and not Vice versa,” said Obama.

In his article, the President defends the advantages for the United States, currently being established, the TRANS-Pacific trade partnership (TTP). According to him, the increase in the volume of trade in the Asia-Pacific region, which is on track to become the most populous and lucrative market on the planet, would be a boon for American business and American workers and would give US a head start compared to competitors such as China.

Obama pointed to the fact that China conducts its policy with a view to concluding trade agreements in the region. To this end, last week the representatives of the leadership of China and 15 other countries met in Australia to discuss the transaction. This prospect, in the opinion of the President of the United States, endangering American jobs and the ability to sell American goods.

According to Obama, promoted by the China regional Comprehensive economic partnership (VERP) will not prevent unfair competition, which would benefit subsidized by governments state-owned enterprises.

Also VERP will not protect a free and open Internet, does not respect intellectual property rights so that American creators, artists, filmmakers and entrepreneurs would have received what they expected, said the head of the White house.

“Fortunately, America has a private plan that meets each of these goals,” Obama said, referring to the TTP. The agreement, he said, strengthens the us economy, puts American workers first, removes barriers to the sale made in the USA goods abroad.

The agreement will allow to increase exports and provide high wages in the United States workers, the President said. He also added that it will strengthen America’s national security. In this regard, Obama believes it is important for his administration to convince Congress to support the TPP.

TRANS-Pacific trade partnership proves that the United States write the “rules of the road” for trade in the XXI century, Obama said. “The world has changed. The rules are changing along with it. The United States, and not countries such as China, must write them,” — said the President.

On the conclusion of an agreement on the TPP, Obama announced 5 October 2015. It is expected that the partnership will be established free trade zone in the Asia Pacific region, covering 12 countries. In the merger will include the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, Vietnam, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
