25 years ago ended the existence of the Soviet system.
A crucial role was played by Mikhail Gorbachev, to him I would add A. N. Yakovlev, and organized their restructuring.
The breakup with the Soviet model was difficult, because we had to explain to the citizens that socialism, which wanted to build a Communist, in the end did not take place. But Russia, namely, the socialist model lost, not Russia, was supposed to move in this regard, considerable difficulties before it can enter the “big League”, which she was already on the eve of the first World war. To return to the position of the second superpower, which it had occupied for some time after World war II, now seems impossible, although in the years of perestroika many seem very calculated.
The fundamental result of the competition was that a command or so-called planning system lost the market that have proven their advantages in the West. We had to change the system, return to that which we have started to build even after the reforms of Alexander II. And then another to bring it to a competitive state. Whatever one thinks of contemporaries who had to endure these tests, they are today in large part to the experienced, we live in a market economy. But the process itself was extremely difficult, and still today, many will have to go through.
The most important thing I want to say: the processes that we have experienced in 1905-1917 years. in the end of perestroika, the events of the coup and the victory of the defenders of the White House in August 1991, the first year, and then the market reforms of the Yeltsin-Gaidar, was returned into our lives, and today we are witnessing their development.
We in the New Russia, much different, much is lost, primarily from the former Empire and the Soviet Union. It seems that Russia, after these losses will not be revived, but it’s not. It is not an Empire, but rather a modern nation-state. There live a lot of people, but we are today a nation-state, the New Russia. What?
The point is that just 25 years ago, after the restructuring, completing the existence of the Soviet system, we have a market economy that can develop in the modern world unlike the previous one. Gaidar’s reforms, whatever may be said, played a crucial role. We prepared them together with Yavlinsky, in 1990, the year worked on the plan “500 days”.
Today, the political system has both supporters and opponents. But the New Russia, I am convinced, is now able to develop as a modern state, market and democratic. Let’s talk about this.
