London, Hong Kong, Paris, Dubai and new York named the most attractive global destinations for shopping.
That rating was compiled by the consulting company JLL.
The study involved 140 key trading cities located in different countries of the world. These cities together account for 36% of global GDP and more than 15 trillion billion of consumer spending.
The top ten also included Shanghai, Singapore, Beijing, Tokyo and Kuwait.
The drafters of the rating note that in London there are a large number of international companies, including working in the segment of sales of luxury goods.
Hong Kong’s attractiveness for shopping is a leading city in the Asia-Pacific region. It is noted that mainland China provides a third of total sales.
In Paris the high rents for popular retailers. The capital of France occupies the third place in the ranking for the sale of luxury goods.
As noted in the study, in Dubai, there are 35% of sales of luxury goods from around the world. In addition, the Emirate is a leading destination for shopping in the middle East.
New York, according to JLL, offers the highest cost of renting retail space is $37.7 thousand per square meter. The American trading companies are the biggest exporters in the world.
