These regions can boast of an excellent education.
Europe is the world leader in terms of quality of education. But even in Europe itself has a particularly “smart” regions that can’t be compared to others.
The statistical service of European Union Eurostat has published a report on the most highly educated areas of Europe. Eurostat analysed what percentage of the population of each region, country and municipality in the ages of 25 and 64 received higher education.
Interestingly, none of the regions of France were not included in this list, while the UK boasts a large representation of the regions in which more than half of residents received a higher education diploma. Because of this they were among the most educated areas of Europe.
Eurostat has collected enough detailed data, examining the specifics of each individual region. We will also follow the manner of presentation of information statistical service and provide in parentheses the names of some regions in the original language.
Eurostat uses the principle of NUTS (“Nomenclature of territorial units for statistics” ), according to which the EU is divided into separate areas for analysis of social and economic indicators of the regions.

15. The Autonomous community of Madrid (Comunidad de Madrid)

Level of education: 46,9%
The region is one of the 17 Autonomous communities of Spain. The center of the region is the capital of Spain Madrid.
14. Basque Country (Pais Vasco)

Level of education: 47,8%
Autonomous community of Northern Spain is another highly educated region of the country. Bilbao is an important international centre of architecture and design.
13. Hovedstaden
Country: Denmark
Level of education: 48,5%
This area is the easternmost administrative region of Denmark. It consists of the municipalities like Copenhagen is the capital and most populous city of the country.
12. Stockholm
