1. Shambhala. Located, according to legend, somewhere in Asia, Shambhala has an important significance for Buddhists, being a “pure land”. This place is mentioned in ancient texts and was the prototype of Shangri-La Hilton. According to legend, Shambhala is a place in which we live enlightened, it is a place of peace and happiness. Because of this, many claim that Shambhala does not exist, and she’s just a figment of the imagination of the ancients. However, a huge number of people still believe in the existence of Shambhala, somewhere in the West of Tibet or Siberia.
2. Allan. According to myths, Aztlan was the birthplace of a group of people who occupied most of South America before the Spaniards came there. The legend tells that there were seven tribes living in the seven caves called Chicomoztoc. These tribes were called the Nahua peoples. After they left their caves, they settled in FastLane. The legend also talked about the fact that Aztlan was Paradise on Earth, others were convinced that this place was hell. Today I suppose that mythical place was located North of the Colorado river, near Florida, lake Powell, or somewhere in Mexico.
3. Eldorado. Eldorado is often called the Lost Golden city. Although legends Shrouding the existence of this place seem too far-fetched to have at least some truth to that, many people today again and again in expeditions in search of this mysterious place. Those who believe that the lost city exists, believe that it needs to be somewhere in the Amazon basin. One of the most famous expeditions was the expedition led by Francisco de Orellana. 4. Lemuria. Before the theory of tectonic plates and the movement of continents recognized all over the world, Lemuria was considered a continent, which was located in the Pacific and Indian oceans. It was assumed that this lost land went under water for some terrible geological reasons. Modern science is more inclined to believe that the legend of Lemuria – fiction, although there are still people who believe that Lemuria existed in ancient times.
5. Atlantis. The first mention of Atlantis we find in Plato’s dialogues “Timaeus” and “Critias”, but still the tales about the advanced civilization of ancient times did not leave our world. According to Plato, Atlantis was an island nation with a powerful naval forces. The inhabitants of Atlantis – Atlanta — conquered many countries of Western Europe and Africa, and even tried to conquer Athens, which was probably one of the reasons of their death. Today there are several hypotheses regarding the location of the island of Atlantis. According to some of them, Atlantis was in the Mediterranean sea, others were convinced that it was an island of the Atlantic ocean. Some even claimed that the Atlanteans lived in Antarctica, Pacific and Indian oceans or the Caribbean.
