“Alternative for Germany” bypassed led by Chancellor of Germany Christian democratic Union in the elections in Mecklenburg
The Christian democratic Union (CDU) Angela Merkel lost the election to the Parliament of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern right of the party of European “Alternative for Germany” (ADH). It is reported portal Zeit Online.
According to TASS, ADG received about 20.8% of the vote. For the CDU voted 19% of the population. First place with 30.5% of votes Social democratic party of Germany. The regional Parliament also gets the Left party won 12.5 percent. As a result, the members of the SPD will receive in the land Parliament in 26 places, ADG – 18 seats, CDU – 16 seats and the left – 11.
Political scientists see special symbolism lies in the fact that the party of the CDU was defeated in the political homeland Merkel: in this Federal land is the Bureau of its constituency. They note that the results of the election were another blow to the Chancellor.
Currently, the government of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania consists of a coalition of the CDU and the Social democratic party of Germany. The regional Cabinet of Ministers is headed by the social Democrat Erwin, Sellering. Experts do not exclude that now Merkel’s party may not get in the ruling coalition. The analysts are unanimous in the opinion that the same fate awaits ADH, as willing to unite with skeptics is not there.
In elections in March amid immigration crisis and the acute situation in the field of security “Alternative for Germany” took place in the diet of three Federal States: Saxony-Anhalt, Baden-württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate. In 2015 party was held in the parliaments of Hamburg and Bremen. However, in all cases, the government party does not get.
At the same time in 2014, its representatives were held in the European Parliament. The leadership of the party expects the election in 2017 go to the Bundestag.
The party “Alternative for Germany” was founded in 2013. It calls for a full cessation of refugee reception, up to the use of firearms against trying to cross the border illegal immigrants, as well as statements about “preventing a repeat in Germany of the terrorist attacks that occurred in France and Belgium”
In may 2015, the party declared that Islam has nothing to do with Germany, and announced plans to ban minarets, calls to prayer of the muezzins and headgear that completely covers women’s faces.
