German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the winner of U.S. presidential elections, Donald trump discussed the continued cooperation between the two countries.
According to the representative of the office of the Chancellor, Georg Streiter, during the meeting the politicians discussed the continuation of the longstanding ties between the U.S. and Germany. Streiter did not specify the details of the conversation, but noted that on November 17, is scheduled to meet Merkel, President Barack Obama.
At the same time, the German newspaper Bild writes that the call was initiated by the Berlin. Merkel congratulated trump on his election victory and said they would be pleased to receive him at the G20 summit in Germany, which will be held in July 2017.
