Medvedev has appointed a new responsible for youth policy

The Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev has appointed temporarily fulfilling duties of the head of the Federal Agency for youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh) Alexey Palamarchuk. The corresponding decree was published on the portal of legal information on Wednesday, October 12.

Palamarchuk previously held the post of Deputy head of the Agency, the document says.

Earlier Wednesday, the Kremlin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov denied the information about the merger of the Ministry of sports, Federal Agency for youth Affairs and tourism. He stressed that the Russian President offered only strengthen the supervision of these topics for a Deputy Prime Minister.

The day before, 11 October, the newspaper “Soviet sport” reported, citing sources in the government that these agencies will be merged into a single Agency.

7 Oct from office released the former head of the Federal Agency for youth Affairs Sergey Pospelov. After this he was appointed acting head of the state Duma apparatus.

The Federal Agency for youth Affairs is responsible for state youth policy, in particular, measures to promote healthy lifestyles, moral and Patriotic education. The Agency is administered by the Ministry of education and science.
