Мединский пригрозил Danone проблемами из-за "Простоквашино"

The Minister of culture Vladimir Medinsky expressed his dissatisfaction with the fact that Danone uses the brand “Buttermilk”, not making direct contributions to “Soyuzmultfilm”. On Friday, June 17, reports TASS.

“In due time “Soyuzmultfilm” transferred all its rights to the characters to different companies and receive royalties, not directly from users. For example, the company Danone, who’s there “Buttermilk” makes, here’s a Hello to him pass. Will you have problems in the near future, I promise,” said Medina.

According to officials, incorrectly, that the beneficiary of a brand of dairy products “Buttermilk” is a third-party company, not the state film Studio that created the cartoon “Three from Buttermilk” and its sequels. Medina urged the parties to agree to a possible appeal to the court from the “Soyuzmultfilm”.

The reaction of the representatives of Danone to these threats is not followed. The Minister, in turn, did not specify which company, at the time, received the rights to the characters “Soyuzmultfilm”, and now receives royalties for their use in commercial products.

“Soyuzmultfilm” released three short films from the series “Three from Buttermilk” in the years 1978-1984. Cartoons based on the novel by Eduard Uspensky “Uncle Fyodor, dog and cat.” Danone uses the images of cartoon characters cycle in the design of products under the Prostokvashino brand and promotional material.
