СМИ сообщили об интересе Вьетнама к С-400

The online edition of Russia beyond the headlines (RBTH) with reference to the closed material Kanwa Defense Review reported that Vietnam and Russia began negotiations on the supply of anti-aircraft missile systems s-400. According to the publication, Vietnam can buy more than four divisions of the new system, becoming the second foreign recipient after China.

“Vietnam started negotiations with Russia for the purchase of at least four battalions of air defense systems long-range s-400. The parties plan to sign an agreement before the end of this year”, — stated in the message.

At the same time authoritative Russian military blog BMPD, conducted by the staff of the Center for analysis of strategies and technologies (tsast), with reference to the private French newsletter TTU reported that we are talking about the purchase of four regiments of s-400. It is known that the regiment of s-400 includes, as a rule, two, sometimes three divisions, each of which has eight launchers.

Currently in service with the Vietnamese air defense forces there are two divisions of s-300PMU-1 (a total of 12 launchers), which were purchased under contract 2003. The transaction price amounted to $ 300 million.

Previously, the contract to supply s-400 was signed with China, the deal was officially announced in spring 2015. Presumably, China will gain three regiments (six battalions) of the new air defense system worth about three billion dollars, deliveries should begin in 2017.

At the end of 2015, there were reports that the Indian defense acquisition Council on approved the acquisition in Russia of the five regiments of s-400. In the spring of 2016, there have been reports about the conclusion of the contract with India for the supply of air defense systems in this country. This was stated by the head of the planning Commission of the government of RAO Inderjit Singh. Terms of deliveries were not identified.

S-400 “Triumph” is a multi — channel anti-aircraft missile system capable of hitting all available means of air attack, including aircraft, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles, cruise missiles and tactical ballistic missiles with maximum speeds up to 4800 meters per second. S-400 entered service in April 2007. At the beginning of 2016 Russia had deployed twelve anti-aircraft missile regiments equipped with this missile system.
