By the end of this decade the Russian segment of the world wide Web should become fully independent from all other parts of the Internet, that is, make it completely separate. In the communications plans included the increase of traffic in the Internet, not beyond its limits, up to 99%.
In 2014 this index was equal to 70 percent, so for the remaining 3.5 years it is possible to achieve the desired result. How to assure the officials, everything is done in order to improve the stability of the Internet in Russia, in all circumstances access to the Network was always. This will require you to implement solutions that will allow to do without external points of traffic exchange, which, on the background of sanctions and the like one day may become inaccessible for users from Russia. Infrastructure Runet will even include a system of monitoring the connectivity and stability of the national segment of the Internet, which will monitor the presence of external exchange points and offer solutions for the abandonment of their use.
Analysts believe that the proposed measures will improve not only the stability of the Internet, but its safety in the whole country, however, less optimistic experts see in all this is a big problem: the Internet can be simply disconnected from the rest of the Internet, or will be installed powerful firewalls, controlled by you-know-who, who will be able to close us access to unwanted you-know-who resources. In other words, it is likely the return of the “iron curtain”, only this time in virtual space.
