Italian coach Marcello Lippi has signed a major contract with the football Federation of China.
Chinese football Association announces the appointment to the post of chief coach of the national team a 68-year-old Italian Marcello Lippi, who planned to retire, but a generous offer from China convinced award-winning technician to return to the profession.
The post of chief coach of the national team of China Lippi replaced Gao Hongbo, who lost his post after the defeat against Uzbekistan in the framework of the selection for the 2018 world Cup. In his new post Lippi will not only work with China’s national team, but will become curator of the global restructuring of the local football economy.
Lippi in China will earn about 20 million euros per year – the first ever coach to win the world title and the Champions League, topped the ranking of highest-paid mentors, beating Josep Guardiola (Manchester city) and Jose Mourinho (“Manchester United”), which annually earn 17 million euros.
Marcello Lippi in 2006 led Italy to victory in the world Cup. Six times the Italian led Juventus to victory in Serie A, took the Champions League, the UEFA super Cup and Intercontinental Cup. In China as head coach of the “Guangzhou Evergrande” Lippi became three-time national champion and won the local League Champions.
