Two-time Olympic figure skating champion Evgeni Plushenko said that currently participates solely in the demonstrations and feels good. His words on Friday, 16 September, reports “R-Sport”.
“I’m always watching trends in the world of figure skating. Thank God, now I don’t bother. Health for the whole one million percent!” — said Plushenko.
33-year-old athlete said that he is not going to compete this season. “I decided not to rush from the start. Let’s see what happens next season. Will the desire I have to make, decide after passing the examination. Competing this season, I consider it inappropriate and wrong,” — said Plushenko.
In March of this year skater successfully underwent another surgery on the spine. He removed a hernia between the sixth and seventh cervical vertebrae.
The last time Plushenko took to the ice in official competitions in February 2014 during the Olympic games in Sochi, where he won the gold team tournament, but starred with personal tournament because of recurrence of spinal injury. In connection with the damage after the Games, he underwent surgery and told about the intention of competing at the Olympics-2018 in Pyeongchang.
