Kosovo national team football in the first ever official match played a draw with the Finnish team in the qualifying tournament for the world Cup 2018 held in Russia. This was reported on the website of the International football Federation (FIFA).
The first tour group I took place on 5 September in Turku, and ended with the score 1:1. On 18-th minute of the defender of the Finns Paulus, Arajuuri put his team in front. In the 60th minute, the midfielder guests Valon Berisha converted a penalty and scored the first goal in the team’s history of Kosovo.
Parallel group matches I ended with the same score. The Croats played a draw with the Turks, the Ukrainians in Kiev failed to beat team Iceland.
The Union of European football associations (UEFA) has accepted Kosovo as part of the organization at the Congress in Budapest on may 3. Following this, similarly did the FIFA Congress. Russia such a move is not supported.
